My Friend,

As a leading opponent of our federal government's out of control spending, I have always been willing to do what is neccessary to fight wasteful, pork barrel spending. My opposition to spending bills laden with earmarks has angered those who squander our tax dollars and drive our deficit higher, including my primary opponent. They've tried to silence me, but I will never back down from fighting for the core conservative values you and I share.

While serving in Congress, my opponent J.D. Hayworth, was an avid earmarker and earger participant in driving the federal deficit to new heights. He hardly met an earmark he didn't like, including the infamous $233 million "bridge to nowhere." I'm sure you'll agree replacing a fiscal conservative with a big spender like Congressman Hayworth is the wrong way to reduce our nearly $13 trillion deficit.

That is why I ask you to show your commitment for our conservative principles with a generous contribution to my reelection campaign. This is the toughest reelection battle I have ever faced and I will need your help if I am to fight back against my opponent's false attacks.

I am encouraged to see that recent polls show I have maintained a lead over my opponent, however, I have never taken any election for granted and I do not intend to start with this one. I intend to earn each and every vote from men and women across Arizona.

To do this, I will need to spread the message about my record of service across the state. This is an expensive undertaking and I must rely on your generosity to succeed. Our campaign is close to making another round of advertising buys - online, on television and on the radio. We must meet our monthly fundraising goal to make this advertising buy and that is why I ask that you follow this link to make an urgent contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to my campaign.

The liberal leaders in Washington continue to spend money like drunken sailors. This unprecedented spending is embarrassing and must be stopped. They have failed to solve the challenges we face as a country and in many instances, they have created new challenges for our country to solve. They're governing further to the left than any administration in history and we must work to stop them.

I am determined to stay in the U.S. Senate to put a stop to the detrimental spending and find solutions to the host of challenges we face as a nation. But I am running against an opponent who is trying to use my record of service to our country against me. He has littered the airwaves and the Internet with misleading information and I must continue my response ads to fight back. Will you help our campaign reach our monthly fundraising goal to launch our response? Any amount you can give right now will help us reach this all-important goal.

With your support, I will win this primary and the general election to continue fighting for our conservative principles. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

John McCain

P.S. I am proud of my record of fighting for conservative values and I stand by it. But, I am facing the toughest reelection campaign ever against an opponent who has unleashed attack after attack on my record. Today, I am asking you to take a stand and show your support for my reelection campaign with a generous donation of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to help fund our response to these attacks. Your dollars will be put to immediate use online, on television and on the radio to set the record straight. Thank you for your urgent response.
