USS COLE
The USS Cole is in the Mediterranean Sea in support of regional stability leading up to the election in Lebanon, U.S. Defense officials told FOX News on Thursday. An earlier news report said the ship was off the coast of Lebanon.
The USS Cole left Malta on Tuesday for the eastern Mediterranean "in support of a U.S. commitment to regional stability," according to one senior defense official, who also said President Bush is concerned about stability during Lebanon's March 11 election.
Reuters reported a senior official said the United States blames Syria for political deadlock in Lebanon, which has gone without a president for three months over strife between the Western-backed governing coalition and Hezbollah-led opposition, which is backed by Syria and Iran.
The United States, which with Saudi Arabia and Egypt supports the governing coalition, considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization.
The USS Cole was to be accompanied directly by two Navy oilers. Three other Navy vessels also were headed to the Mediterranean as part of a regularly scheduled deployment: the USS Ross destroyer, the USS Nassau amphibious assault ship and the USS Philippine Sea cruiser.
Al Qaeda operatives bombed the USS Cole in 2000, killing 17 U.S. sailors and nearly sinking the $1 billion warship in Aden Harbor, Yemen.
This month the United States expanded economic sanctions on Syria, saying it is responsible for destabilizing Lebanon.
FOX News' Justin Fishel contributed to this report.

Senator UBL aka Obama is endorsed by a terrorist and accepts it
Make's me wonder when Obama's leader UBL will endorse him
Louis Farrakhan backs Obama for president at Nation of Islam convention in Chicago
Senator has criticized him, says support not sought
By Margaret Ramirez | Tribune reporter
Speaking to thousands of members of the Nation of Islam at their annual convention Sunday in Chicago, Minister Louis Farrakhan praised presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama as the only hope for healing the nation's racial divisions.
Farrakhan, 74, the longtime leader of the Nation of Islam, said the war in Iraq, the nation's faltering economy and the increased number of natural disasters were signs of "a nation in peril." He said those problems provide the broader context for Obama's rise.
"We are witnessing the phenomenal rise of a man of color in a country that has persecuted us because of our color," Farrakhan told the crowd of nearly 20,000 gathered at McCormick Place.

"If you look at Barack Obama's [diverse] audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed from what they were," he said. "This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better."
Although Farrakhan's praise for Obama may generate increased support from the black community, the Obama campaign's response was cool.
"Senator Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister's support," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.
Farrakhan's two-hour speech, titled "The Gods At War -- The Future is All About Y.O.U.th," closed the Nation of Islam's annual Saviours' Day Convention, which commemorates the birth of the movement's founder, Wallace D. Fard Muhammad.
In his opening remarks, Farrakhan commented on his unexpected return to the public stage. Last February, the controversial leader said his Saviours' Day speech in Detroit would likely be his last public address.
Speculation also arose about a potential successor to Farrakhan after he handed leadership of the Nation of Islam over to an executive board and underwent surgery for complications due to his treatment for prostate cancer.
On Sunday, Farrakhan said he was thankful that God had granted him another year. He said he had spent most of the last year working internally within the Nation of Islam to put the movement on "the best road possible" to the future.
"I'm still here. I'm alive. My mind is very sharp," he said.
In the past, Farrakhan has sparked outrage for his controversial comments, which include anti-Semitic statements. But in recent years, most significantly after his battle with prostate cancer in the 1990s, he has tried to strike a more conciliatory tone. His popularity among young black Americans grew significantly after the 1995 Million Man March.
Farrakhan said he refused to be a stumbling block to Obama's success.
"Why do you hate him so that you want to make me a stumbling block?" Farrakhan asked. "I want to see that brother successful and I don't want them to use me or that Nation of Islam."
After Farrakhan's speech, some Nation of Islam members such as Jabari Muhammad, said Farrakhan's comments had changed their opinions of Obama.
Muhammad, who traveled from New Orleans for the convention, said he had become disenchanted with politics, until he heard Farrakhan's message.
"I was never political because I felt like nothing changes," he said. "But, after all that Minister Farrakhan said, I'm going to look at Obama a little closer and see what he's about."

Senator UBL IS Sen. Barack Obama
McCain mocks Obama on Iraq comments
by Mosheh Oinounou
Tyler, TX — Sen. John McCain slammed Sen. Barack Obama for suggesting during last night’s debate that while he would begin to withdraw troops from Iraq upon taking office, he would potentially return troops to the country if “al Qaeda is forming a base.”
“I have some news–al Qaeda is in Iraq. It’s called al Qaeda in Iraq,” McCain said at a town hall meeting. “If we left, they wouldn’t be establishing a base, they wouldn’t be establishing a base. They would be taking a country. And I’m not going to allow that to happen, my friends. I will not surrender to al Qaeda.”
During a media availability after the event, McCain added that if the U.S. was to proceed with Obama’s plan for a gradual withdrawal, it would enable al Qaeda to strengthen it’s position in the country.
“(I) question as strongly as possible the premise that somehow you could leave Iraq and defeat the entire purpose of the strategy we are now employing…and then say that you will go back in,” he said. “I am convinced (that would) be a far larger sacrifice of American blood and treasure if you allow al Qaeda to control Iraq.”

Subject: MILITARY DEATHS FOR TWENTY YEARS
MILITARY DEATHS FOR TWENTY YEARS
Bet you didn't know the following! I surely was not fully aware of
all these facts.
Military losses for 20 years
These are some rather eye-opening facts: Since the start of the war
on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan , the sacrifice has been enormous.
In the time period from the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 through
now, we have lost over 3000 military personnel to enemy action and
accidents.
As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is,
consider the following statistics - the annual fatalities of
military members while actively serving in the armed forces from 1980
through 2006:
----------------------------------------------------------
1980 .......... 2,392
1981 ........ 2,380
1984 ......... 1,999
1988 ......... 1,819
1989 ......... 1,636
1990 ......... 1,508
1991 .......... 1,787
1992 .......... 1,293 <------------------------------
1993 .......... 1,213
1994 .......... 1,075
1995 ..........2,465
1996 ........ 2,318 8 Clinton years @ 13,417 deaths
1997 .......... 817
1998 ........ 2,252
1999 ......... 1,984 <-- ---------------------------
2000 .......... 1,983
2001 .......... 890
2002 .......... 1,007 7 Bush years @ 9,016 deaths
2003 ......... 1,410
2004 ......... 1,887
2005 ......... 919
2006.......... 920
----------------------------------------------------------
If you are confused when you look at these figures...so was I.
Do these figures mean that the loss from the two latest conflicts in
the Middle East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during
Mr. Clinton's presidency; when America wasn't even involved in a war?
And, I was even more impressed; when I read that in 1980, during the
reign of President (Nobel Peace Prize) Jimmy Carter, there were 2,392
US military fatalities!
These figures indicate that many of our Media & Politicians pick and
choose.
They present only those "facts" which support their agenda-driven
reporting.
Why do so many of them march in lock-step to twist the truth?
Where do so many of them get their marching-orders for their agenda?
Our Mainstream print and TV media, and many politicians like to
slant; that these brave men and women, who are losing their lives in
Iraq, are mostly minorities! Wrong AGAIN--- just one more media lie! The latest census,
of Americans, shows the following distribution of American citizens, by
Race:
----------------------------------------------------------
European descent (White) ....... 69.12%
Hispanic ................................ 12.5%
Black..................................... 12.3%
Asian ...................................... 3.7%
Native American ..................... . 1.0%
Other ...................................... 2.6%
----------------------------------------------------------
Now... here are the fatalities by race; over the past three years in
Iraqi
Freedom:
----------------------------------------------------------
European descent (white) ..... 74.31%
Hispanic ............................. 10.74%
Black .................................. 9.67%
Asian ................................. 1.81%
Native American ................... 1.09%
Other ................................... 33%
----------------------------------------------------------
You do the math! These figures don't lie... but, the liberal media
chooses to ignore the facts...and they sway public opinion! These
statistic s are published by Congressional Research Service, and they
may be confirmed by anyone at:
http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf_
Now ask yourself these two questions:
"Why does the mainstream print and TV media never print statistics
like these?"
and
"Why do the mainstream media hate the web as much as they do?"
Because the mainstream media is controlled by liberals who have an
agenda that is not supported by publication of these facts. Bottom Line?
Do your own research and do not be swayed by what you see on TV or
read in most newspapers.
Then, regardless of your party, go to the polls and cast your own vote!

Terrorist love Hollywood
So I'm watching the part of the Oscars where they had our troops introducing the award for best documentary short when my roommate, Scott the flight attendant, had an idea for a movie.
It's about terrorists striking the Oscars! Talk about a red carpet — with clumps of Versace and Valentino everywhere! The only survivors find safe haven under Michael Moore, who oddly enough, emerges unscathed.
That's offensive, I said. But, still I wondered, how would Hollywood respond to such an attack? In the film version, of course, Bruce Willis would come to the rescue, and annihilate every member of Al Qaeda.
But in reality, Hollywood would be outraged, then conflicted, until uniting together in agreement that its all Bush's fault -- or rather, Bush-itler.
Hollywood's need to reject America in favor of tolerating the truly intolerant, means you better accept that it's our fault, not the guys in the suicide vests, (which by the way, come in a classic two-piece ensemble that's both age-appropriate and elegant.)
But the fact is, because so many movies these days say it's the U.S. that's responsible for everything bad in the world, it's clear that terrorists would never strike in Hollywood. I mean, why target your allies — especially when you're losing?

The Final Inspection

The Final Inspection
The Marine stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Marine,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Marine waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Marine,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

This is an email I received today.
This is an email I received today.
I couldn't agree with this more!
I don't know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president.
Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.
"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?
Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide .
I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Qumran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !!
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem" -- Ronald Reagan
I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this.

One last thought for the day:
In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out."
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.
AMEN!

Get out get out you terrorist lover
Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, is under fire for leaving the impression that she hasn’t been proud of her country until now, when Democrats are beginning to rally around her husband’s campaign.
Speaking in Milwaukee, Wis., on Monday, she said, “People in this country are ready for change and hungry for a different kind of politics and … for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”
Greeted with rousing applause after making the comment in Milwaukee, Obama delivered an amended version of the speech later that day in Madison, Wis.
“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country … not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change,” she said. “I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment.”
Obama was born in 1964, meaning her adult life began in 1982. Critics quickly seized on the newfound national pride.
“I am proud of my country,” John McCain’s wife, Cindy, said at a campaign stop in Brookfield, Wis., Tuesday. “I don’t know if you heard those words earlier … but I am very proud of my country.”
During a follow up press conference, the Arizona senator was asked if they were responding to Michelle Obama and he deferred to his wife.
McCain responded: “I just wanted to make the statement that I have and always will be proud of my country.”
Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the candidate’s wife wasn’t trying to knock her country, only underscore the meaning behind her husband’s campaign.
“The point is that of course Michelle is proud of her country, which is why she and Barack talk constantly about how their story wouldn’t be possible in any other nation on Earth,” she said. “What she meant is that she’s really proud at this moment because for the first time in a long time, thousands of Americans who’ve never participated in politics before are coming out in record numbers to build a grassroots movement for change.”
But conservative outlets aren’t so ready to let her off the hook.
“Can it really be there has not been a moment during that time when she felt proud of her country?” reads an article in Commentary magazine. “Forget matters like the victory in the Cold War; how about only things that have made liberals proud — all the accomplishments of inclusion? How about the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1991? Or Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s elevation to the Supreme Court?”
The article then says Michelle Obama’s comments suggest “the pseudo-messianic nature of the Obama candidacy is very much a part of the way the Obamas themselves are feeling.”
Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol said the comment “was sort of revealing.”
“She was an adult when we won the Cold War without firing a shot. She was an adult for the last 25 years of economic progress, social progress,” he told FOX News. “I think the Democrats have to be careful … they’re running against the status quo … You have to be careful not to let that slide into a kind of indictment of America. Because I don’t think the American people think on the whole that the last 25 years of American history is a narrative of despair and nothing to be proud of.”
Democratic strategist Bob Beckel said Obama “shouldn’t have said it the way she said it” but she gets the benefit of his doubt. He added that she most likely was just referring to the grassroots movement that’s swelled to support her husband, but she needs to be more careful.
“The Obama’s have to recognize they are now front-runners, and everything they say, it’s now open hunting season for people,” he said.

Supreme Court Rejects ACLU Challenge to Warrantless Surveillance Program
Tuesday, February 19, 2008
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court rejected a challenge Tuesday to the Bush administration's domestic spying program.
The justices' decision, issued without comment, is the latest setback to legal efforts to force disclosure of details of the warrantless wiretapping that began after the Sept. 11 attacks.
The American Civil Liberties Union wanted the court to allow a lawsuit by the group and individuals over the wiretapping program. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed the suit, saying the plaintiffs could not prove their communications had been monitored.
The government has refused to turn over information about the closely guarded program that could reveal who has been under surveillance.
ACLU legal director Steven R. Shapiro has said his group is in a "Catch-22" because the government says the identities of people whose communications have been intercepted is secret. But only people who know they have been wiretapped can sue over the program, Shapiro has said.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last year ruled against an Islamic charity that also challenged program, concluding that a key piece of evidence is protected as a state secret.
In that case, the Oregon-based U.S. arm of the Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation alleged the National Security Agency illegally listened to its calls. The charity had wanted to introduce as evidence a top-secret call log it received mistakenly from the Treasury Department.
A separate lawsuit against telecommunications companies that have cooperated with the government is pending in the San Francisco-based appeals court. A U.S. district court also is examining whether the warrantless surveillance of people in the United States violates the law that regulates the wiretapping of suspected terrorists and requires the approval of a secret court.
The case is ACLU v. NSA, 07-468.

Fidel Castro Resigns As Cuba's President
HAVANA (AP) - An ailing, 81-year-old Fidel Castro resigned as Cuba's president Tuesday after nearly a half-century in power, saying he will not accept a new term when parliament meets Sunday.
The end of Castro's rule - the longest in the world for a head of government - frees his 76-year-old brother Raul to implement reforms he has hinted at since taking over as acting president when Fidel Castro fell ill in July 2006. President Bush said he hopes the resignation signals the beginning of a democratic transition.
"My wishes have always been to discharge my duties to my last breath," Castro wrote in a letter published Tuesday in the online edition of the Communist Party daily Granma. But, he wrote, "it would be a betrayal to my conscience to accept a responsibility requiring more mobility and dedication than I am physically able to offer."
In the pre-dawn hours, most Cubans were unaware of Castro's message, and Havana's streets were quiet. It wasn't until 5 a.m., several hours after Castro's message was posted on the internet, that official radio began reading the missive to early risers.
By sunrise, most people headed to work in Havana seemed to have heard the news, which they appeared to accept without obvious signs of emotion. There were no tears or smiles as Cubans went about their usual business.
"He will continue to be my commander in chief, he will continue to be my president," said Miriam, a 50-year-old boat worker waiting for the bus to Havana port. "But I'm not sad because he isn't leaving, and after 49 years he is finally resting a bit."
Castro temporarily ceded his powers to his brother on July 31, 2006, when he announced that he had undergone intestinal surgery. Since then, the elder Castro has not been seen in public, appearing only sporadically in official photographs and videotapes and publishing dense essays about mostly international themes as his younger brother has consolidated his rule.
There had been widespread speculation about whether Castro would continue as president when the new National Assembly meets Sunday to pick the country's top leadership. Castro has been Cuba's unchallenged leader since 1959 - monarchs excepted, he was the world's longest ruling head of state.

Gives me the warm and fuzzy feeling
Last month, technology news sites and blogs breathlessly reported on a Federal Aviation Administration document suggesting that Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner passenger jet may be vulnerable to computer hackers.
Specifically, the FAA was concerned that a passenger could use the on-board entertainment network, which personal laptops can plug into, to access the plane's navigation system and disable or take over the plane
"The proposed architecture of the 787," the FAA stated, "allows new kinds of passenger to previously isolated data networks connected to systems that perform functions required for the safe operation of the airplane."
All three variants of the jetliner — the medium-range 787-8, going into service next year, the short-range 787-3 and long-range 787-9, expected in 2010 — have three on-board computer networks.
One network is for flight safety and navigation, a second is for administrative functions and the third handles passenger entertainment
The problem is that all three are linked.
"Any time you have a physical connection (between computer networks), there is a possibility someone could bridge from one to the other," says Jonathan Ezor, an assistant professor at the Touro College Institute for Business, Law & Technology in Central Islip, N.Y.
As security experts know, any link between systems is exploitable. That's why you pay for Internet protection software — and why government defense and intelligence agencies keep some of their computers completely off-line.
The FAA's document, called a "special condition," goes on to say: "The proposed data network design and integration may result in security vulnerabilities from intentional or unintentional corruption of data and systems critical to the safety and maintenance of the airplane."
In other words, it's possible this plane could be hacked.
"Special conditions" are issued by the FAA when it finds problems with technologies so new that they're not yet covered by existing regulations.
In such cases, manufacturers must meet the new criteria before aircraft can be certified as safe to carry passengers. Ten special conditions have been issued for the 787-8.
Boeing denies that a computer-security problem exists, and says further that if it does, it's already been corrected.
"There is a limited amount of information between networks (on the 787)," said company spokeswoman Lori Gunter. "The least amount is between passenger and flight control."
She added that Boeing is not working on a solution to the security problem — because the company has already resolved it, having known the FAA was drafting the special condition months in advance.
"All aspects of the condition are addressed in the airplane," said Gunter.
Multiple onboard servers operate the three networks, which do not run commercial operating systems, she said.
Instead, they use a non-proprietary operating system "written to aerospace standards" by multiple contractors, and Boeing will be testing every line of code to the FAA's satisfaction, tracing each decision branch along the way.
Within each network, Gunter assured, there are multiple layers of
As an example, she described how an input panel in the main cabin lets flight attendants type in how many passengers are aboard each flight.
The data is passed to the administrative servers, which automatically adjust the humidity level in the passenger cabin according to capacity.
"There is no return path," said Gunter about the connection.
In other words, even if a hacker could access the humidity function, he'd be unable to get any further without a returning stream of data.
But don't all network interactions require some kind of acknowledgement — a "handshake" — between computers?
"The answer really depends by what Boeing means by 'no return path,'" says Ezor. "Do they mean there's no physical connection, or do they mean the software doesn't solicit info coming back? If it's software making it only go one way, then a hacker may be able to compromise it with more software."
Gunter says initial deliveries of the 787-8 will be only "Internet tech enabled."
Ethernet ports will be built into seat handles, and wiring will be in place to support those ports, but they'll be dead links.
Exactly what kind of Internet access each airplane offers, and how it is delivered, will be left to the airlines.
There may also be another vulnerability, one the FAA did not seem to address.
Gunter, the Boeing spokeswoman, mentioned that maintenance technicians with laptops will be able to wirelessly access and download information from the 787's administrative network while the plane is on the ground.
Likewise, gate personnel in the terminal can upload flight plans and passenger information via Wi-Fi to the cabin crew's onboard intranet.
Gunter noted that actual maintenance requires physical access to the plane, and that Wi-Fi's short range prevents hackers on the ground from accessing a plane in flight.
But it doesn't take a Tom Clancy to imagine an anonymous bad guy wirelessly hacking into a plane's flight systems while he's sitting at the gate, tapping away at his laptop while waiting to board with all the other passengers.
Ezor cited a 2003 case in which two young men got into the central network of the Lowe's home-improvement chain, located in Charlotte, N.C., via a Wi-Fi connection accessible outside a Lowe's store in Southfield, Mich.
Once inside, they installed a program to capture customers' credit-card information, though they netted few numbers before being caught. The men pleaded guilty to wire fraud and conspiracy, with one receiving a 9-year federal prison sentence.
The Wi-Fi danger to the 787 doesn't end on the ground.
If a plane's Wi-Fi access isn't turned off after takeoff, wouldn't it be possible for a malicious in-flight passenger to bypass the Ethernet network entirely — and just wirelessly access the admin or passenger-cabin systems from his laptop or iPhone?
"There are ways to build entirely secure Wi-Fi networks that are absolutely separated logically from other networks," counters Fleishman. "This is the basic principle behind how corporate Wi-Fi has evolved: using government-grade security and often using 'two-factor' logins, where a user name and password has to be paired with a number read off a hardware key that you have to have on you and which changes every minute."

Something Democrats dont get
Retired Green Beret shoots intruder, gets court martial BREVARD, Jan. 19, 2008 - Retired Army Green Beret James T. (Smokey) Taylor got his court martial this weekend and came away feeling pretty good about it. Taylor, at age 79, is one of the oldest members of Chapter XXXIII (The Larry Thorne Chapter) of the Special Forces Association. He was placed on trial by fellow Chapter XXXIII members under the charge of 'failing to use a weapon of sufficient caliber' in the shooting of an intruder at his home in Knoxville, TN, in November. The court martial, of course, was very much tongue in cheek. The event itself was deadly serious. Taylor had been awakened in the early morning hours of November 5, 2007, when an intruder broke into his home. He investigated the noises with one of his many weapons in hand. 'It was just after Halloween, on Monday morning at 4:30,' Taylor said. I heard this commotion at the door and grabbed my fishing gun, a little 22 revolver, to see what was going on. I got to the front door and this fellow had ripped my security door out of its frame. He said, 'you're going to have to kill me. I'm coming in.'' When a warning to leave went unheeded, Taylor brought his .22 caliber pistol to bear and shot him right between the eyes. 'I was about four feet away from him when I shot,' Taylor said. 'Looking back now, I'm glad he didn't die, but that boy had the hardest head I've ever seen. The bullet bounced right off.' The impact knocked the would-be thief down momentarily. He crawled out of the house then got up and ran down the street. Taylor dialed 911 and Knoxville police apprehended the wounded man about 200 yards away, hiding in a hedgerow. Complicating the case, as well as the court martial, the offender was released on bail but failed to appear for his court date. Knoxville police said the man was homeless. They did not know his whereabouts or why he had been given bail. The charges brought against Taylor by his fellow Green Berets were considered to be serious. He is a retired Special Forces Weapons Sergeant with extensive combat experience during the wars in Korea and Vietnam. 'Charges were brought against him under the premise that he should have saved the county and taxpayers the expense of a trial,' said Chapter XXXIII President Bill Long of Asheville, NC. The trial was held at the Hampton Inn in Brevard, part of the group's regularly scheduled quarterly meeting. Long appointed a judge, Bert Bates, a defense counsel, Jim Hash, and a prosecutor, Charlie Ponds. All are retired Special Forces non-commissioned officers with extensive combat and weapons experience. Ponds outlined th e case against Taylor, emphasizing that the citizens of Knox County were going to be burdened with significant costs to again apprehend, and then prosecute and defend the would-be burglar. 'Proper choice of a larger caliber gun would have spared the citizens this financial burden,' Ponds said, 'while removing one bad guy from the streets for good. He could have used a .45 or .38. The .22 just wasn't big enough to get the job done. Hash disagreed. He said Taylor had done the right thing in choosing to arm himself with a 22. 'If he'd used a .45 or something like that the round would have gone right through the perp, the wall, the neighbor's wall and possibly injured some innocent child asleep in its bed. I believe the evidence shows that Smokey Taylor exercised excellent judgment in his choice of weapons. He clearly remains to this day an excellent weapons man.' Hash then floated a theory as to why the bullet bounced off the perp's forehead. 'He was victimized by old ammunition,' he said, 'just as he was in Korea and again in Vietnam, when his units were issued ammo left over from World War II.' Taylor said nothing in his own defense, choosing instead to allow his peers to debate the matter. The jury, consisting of all the members of the Chapter, discussed the merits of choosing a larger caliber weapon as well as the obvious benefits to society of permanently deleting the intruder so he would never again threaten any private citizen. The other side of the coin, that of accidentally causing injury to a completely innocent citizen if a more powerful gun had been used, also gained considerable support . Following testimony from both sides, Judge Bates determined the charges should be dismissed. The decision was met with a round of applause. In fact, there was strong sentiment expressed that Taylor should receive an award for not only choosing wisely in picking up the .22, but for the accuracy of his aim under difficult and dangerous conditions. After the trial Taylor said the ammunition was indeed old and added the new information that the perp had soiled his pants as he crawled out the door. 'I would have had an even worse mess to clean up if it had gone through his forehead,' Taylor sa id. 'It was good for both of us that it didn't.' Meanwhile, back in Knox County, the word is out: Don't go messing with Smokey Taylor. He just bought a whole bunch of fresh ammo. Tribune Editor Bill Fishburne is a member of the Larry Thorne Chapter XXXIII of the Special Forces Association.
Its time to get rid of the Gun Free Zones at schools
DEKALB, Ill. - Another person shot when a gunman opened fire at a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University has died, bringing the toll to seven, including the gunman, a coroner said Friday. Investigators and school officials did not immediately know why the man indiscriminately fired into the crowd with a shotgun and two handguns Thursday, wounding 15 people and sending panicked students fleeing for the exits before killing himself.
“We have no motive and I have no way of knowing what the motive was,” University Police Chief Donald Grady said.
At one time I was very against arming teachers or allowing qualified students to carry on campus. I’m not any more. These maniacs go to those schools KNOWING that their’s will be the only gun there - until police arrive. And that can take minutes.
If you know anything about guns, or ever fire on a range, take any semi-automatic pistol with, say, two extra loaded magazines, and see how long it will take you to fire every single round in those magazines. It doesn’t take but a few seconds. Then imagine firing into a crowded room filled with unarmed people.
Like shooting fish in a barrel.
This one, like some others before him, even stopped to reload. One gun. That’s all it would have taken. But that campus, like all the others, is a “gun free zone”.
To everyone except the killer.

According to the City of Berkeley, California, our nation's brave men and women in uniform are "uninvited and unwelcome intruders."
That's right!
The Berkeley City Council recently passed a resolution telling U.S. Marine recruiters that they were "not welcome in the city, if recruiters choose to stay, they do as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."
Some of us are old enough to remember how many Marines died at Iwo Jima and gave their lives so the people of Berkeley could wave obscene placards and shout four-letter words.
And this time the target is unmistakable: It IS the troops they despise, not the Republican Party or George W. Bush or the war.
And, needless to say, patriotic Americans everywhere are outraged.
Senator Jim DeMint expressed that outrage when he said:
"This is a slap in the face to all brave service men and women and their families. The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money. If the city can't show respect for the Marines that have fought, bled and died for their freedom, Berkeley should not be receiving special taxpayer funded handouts."
But Senator DeMint didn't merely speak his mind.
Since Berkeley's life's blood is federal handouts, Senator DeMint wants to hit them where it hurts and has introduced the "Semper Fi Act of 2008," which will specifically take $2.1 million in federal government earmarks and pork from Berkeley and give it directly to the Marines.
"I am currently drafting legislation to ensure that American taxpayers aren't forced to pay for this insult by rescinding all of the earmarks for Berkeley in the Omnibus Appropriations bill, and to transfer the funds to the Marine Corps."
Fewer federal dollars for welfare, more funding for defense!
Clearly Senator DeMint has his priorities straight. And, he desperately needs our help today!

The Marine
> > > A United States Marine was attending some college courses betweenassignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, 'God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am God. I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his Chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.
The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'God was too busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act like an asshole. So, He sent me.'

More Exit Polling Data
Wellp, so much for my predictions. good night folks :-)
This is from Jim Gegarty over at Campaign Spot:
The Great Big Early Exit Poll Report
I just got a big pile of exit poll data.
The early wave in California: McCain 40 percent, Romney 36 percent, Huckabee 10 percent.
Fascinating and fun as it is, I remind my readers that this doesn’t tell us that much, as we don’t know what the district-by-district breakdown is. Also, there are three million absentee votes that I’m pretty sure are not included in this.
So while these numbers are nice to hear for McCain fans, I take them with even more caution, skepticism and grains of salt than usual.
Missouri: Romney 34 percent, McCain 32 percent, Huckabee 25 percent.
Winner take all. If these numbers hold - and these are early voters, the later waves may change the final a bit — it’s a big, big win for Romney.
Georgia: Huckabee 34 percent, Romney 31 percent, McCain 30 percent.
Now on to the NYC-metro-area states:
New York: McCain 46, Romney 35, Huckabee 10 percent.
New Jersey: McCain 48 percent, Romney 35, Huckabee 9 percent.
Connecticut: McCain 50 percent, Romney 32 percent, Huckabee 7 percent.
More or less what we expected.
Now the big Mitt states:
The early wave in Utah:
Romney 91 percent, McCain 5 percent, Huckabee 1 percent.
I think I’m ready to call that one.
Massachusetts: Romney 54, McCain 35.
But in McCain’s home state…
Arizona: McCain 44, Romney 39, Huckabee 8.
That’s a heck of a lot closer than I had expected.
On to the South, where the numbers at this point look good for Huckabee…
Alabama: Huckabee 42 percent, McCain 33 percent, Romney 20 percent.
Tennessee: Huckabee 34, McCain 28, Romney 23.
Arkansas: Huckabee 33, McCain 21, Romney 19.
Oklahoma: McCain 34, Huckabee 32, Romney 27.
A barnburner!
Delaware: Romney 43, McCain 34, Huckabee 18.
Not a big state, but it's winner take all, so I'm sure Team Romney would take it.Illinois: McCain 47, Romney 31, Huckabee 15.

Willie Nelson: Twin Towers Were Imploded On 9/11
Willie Nelson: Twin Towers Were Imploded On 9/11American icon tells Alex Jones Show he questions official story
Paul Joseph WatsonPrison PlanetMonday, February 4th, 2008
Straight talking American icon Willie Nelson today told a national radio show that he thought the twin towers were imploded like condemned Las Vegas casino buildings, as the country music superstar controversially voiced his doubts about the official 9/11 story.
Agreeing with host Alex Jones that he questioned the official story, Nelson elaborated, “I saw those towers fall and I’ve seen an implosion in Las Vegas - there’s too much similarities between the two, and I saw a building fall that didn’t get hit by nothing,” added Nelson, referring to WTC Building 7 which collapsed in the late afternoon of September 11.
“How naive are we - what do they think we’ll go for?,” asked Nelson, pointing out that his doubts began on the very day of 9/11.
“I saw one fall and it was just so symmetrical, I said wait a minute I just saw that last week at the casino in Las Vegas and you see these implosions all the time and the next one fell and I said hell there’s another one - and they’re trying to tell me that an airplane did it and I can’t go along with that,” said Nelson.
The former Highwayman, fresh from his appearance at this past weekend’s superbowl, questioned why Afghanistan became an immediate target in the aftermath of 9/11 when the official story posited that mostly Saudi Arabians were responsible for the attack.
“When I get hit I like to look around and see who did it before I start swinging at everybody in the room and that’s kind of what we were doing,” said Nelson, “We get hit over here and then next thing you know we’re jumping on everybody in the town - so (if) we got hit from Saudi Arabia, I think we’ve got some questions that need to be answered from those folks,” said Nelson.
In light of his viewpoint, Nelson said that recent revelations concerning the impartiality of the 9/11 Commission and its close links with the White House did not surprise him.
“What does it take for us to realize we’re having the wool pulled over our eyes one more time?” he concluded.
Nelson is not the first high-profile public figure to question 9/11. In March 2006, actor Charlie Sheen voiced his doubts and was followed last year by his father Martin Sheen.
Aside from celebrities - professors, scientists and other experts the world over have questioned the inconsistencies in the official story, and the topic was most recently even a subject of serious debate in the Japanese Parliament.
Nelson’s country music contemporaries The Dixie Chicks were savaged by the establishment when they criticized the Bush administration shortly before the invasion of Iraq. It remains to be seen whether the corporate media will dare take on Nelson for his views or whether they will just try to ignore the story as happened with Martin Sheen.

Willie Nelson: Twin Towers Were Imploded On 9/11American icon tells Alex Jones Show he questions official story

Death of a border Agent
Here's the raw story of a brutal death that could have been prevented.
In a recreational area near Andrade, California, where people go to ride dune buggies, a brown Hummer suddenly roared into the campground, jeopardizing the lives of men, women, and children.
As the L.A. Times put it: "The man at the wheel, a suspected drug smuggler, was heading to Mexico, fast."
Border Agent Luis Aguilar, quick and brave, grabbed a spike strip and threw it in front of the Hummer.
The driver sped up and went after Aguilar. As one witness put it, "It looked like the man swerved and hit the agent intentionally."
And why not? According to regulations, Border Patrol agents aren't allowed to PURSUE illegal aliens.
And if agents use their guns, a U.S. Attorney will make certain they end up serving an 11 or 12-year sentence.
Of course, if our elected officials had actually allowed the construction of that fence... if they were really serious about securing the border, there would be no way to tell if it would have made a difference in the specific case of Aguilar.
But make no mistake, our elected leaders' lack of resolve when it comes to securing the border sends an unmistakable message to illegal aliens and drug smugglers.
Until our elected leaders get serious, law enforcement agents and innocent Americans WILL DIE NEEDLESSLY!How many of our law enforcement agents will have to die or be falsely accused of crimes before our elected leaders get the message?

Tell them that their recent move to gut the Secure Fence Act DID NOT go unnoticed. Tell them that Congressman Duncan Hunter has reintroduced his bill mandating the building of the fence -- over 700 miles of it. Remind them that you are watching what they do, or don't do and demand that they push to build that fence NOW.
