Fw: Question Elena Kagan

Dear Deal W. Hudson,

Earlier this week, President Obama announced that Solicitor General Elena Kagan was his nomination for the Supreme Court to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens. Kagan Petition

Solicitor General Kagan has questionable areas about her views regarding abortion, international law, gay rights, and signs of an anti-religion bias.

Click here to sign a petition urging all U.S. Senators to closely examine the views, beliefs and actions of Kagan.

While Kagan lacks previous judicial experience, she still has a professional record indicating her positions on controversial issues from her years in the Clinton Administration.

Kagan's record reveals four areas that should be scrutinized by the Senate.

1. Kagan's willingness to look at international law when deciding domestic cases.

2. Kagan's tendency toward anti-religious bias.

3. Kagan's position on federal funding for abortion, her work in the Clinton White House on abortion policy, and any legal work done on behalf of Planned Parenthood or any other organizations that advocate for legalized abortion.

4. Kagan's position on extending benefits to same-sex couples.

All four of these areas present possible concerns about which way Kagan would approach cases heard before the Supreme Court.

Sign the petition today urging members of the Senate to thoroughly question Kagan.

It is critical for the Senate to spend time and sufficiently question Kagan since she is likely to face these issues from the bench.

Sincerely,

Deal W. Hudson
President, Catholic Advocate

P.S. Urge the Senate to thoroughly question Elena Kagan, nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court.
