Is Obama's Advisor David Axelrod Trying to Profit from Government-Run Health Care?

ACU Logo

David Axelrod is the Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama.  He was the chief architect of Obama's campaign for the White House.

He has been a political puppet-master pulling the strings of ACORN, Obama's community "Organizers for America" and affiliated groups in pushing for government-run health care.

Now we have learned another item about Mr. Axelrod...

We have learned that Axelrod and/or his family and friends might be personally profiting from the government-run health care push.

The Associated Press and other outlets report it could be to the tune of $24 million or more.

The AP reported "President Barack Obama's push for a national health care overhaul is providing a financial windfall in the election offseason to Democratic consulting firms that are closely connected to the president and two top advisers."

The story went on to say "Coalitions of interest groups running at least $24 million in pro-overhaul ads hired GMMB, which worked for Obama's 2008 campaign and whose partners include a top Obama campaign strategist. They also hired AKPD Message and Media, which was founded by David Axelrod... Axelrod's son Michael and Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe work there."

It has been reported by the AP that Axelrod's former firm still owes him millions and they are required to make payments to him for several years still to come.

So when they get paid, Axelrod gets paid...

HELP CALL ON PRESIDENT OBAMA, ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER AND THE NEWS MEDIA TO FORCE AXELROD TO COME CLEAN.  SIGN THE PETITION HERE AND NOW.  DON'T LET THEM PERSONALLY PROFIT FROM GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE.

Where did the $24 million come from?  In part from the drug lobby PhRMA.

Last year while running for President, Barack Obama regularly attacked PhRMA. But earlier this year Obama reversed course and chose to cut a deal with PhRMA.

Now we have learned that this same group is paying Axelrod's former firm to promote Obama's push for government-run health care.

So with Axelrod sitting just feet from the Oval Office, Obama backed down ...now PhRMA and Obama are now working together ...and Axelrod's former firm is profiting with millions and millions of dollars.

This is just one more wrinkle in the current health care debate.

We reported to you last week that Obama's "Organizers for America" were trying to convince Americans to support government-run health care at Democratic town hall meetings and trying to protest against opponents at Republican town hall meetings.

Those with ties to these community organizers - Axelrod seems to control - seem to be ratcheting up the rhetoric.

Last week Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who in our ACU video last year was shown pushing socialism and directing ACORN, attacked Senate opponents to government-run health care saying QUOTE: not only are we going to do everything we can to organize [we will] put pressure on the Senators -- some of whom are Neanderthals...

The Obama team is taking this to a whole new level - they seem to be pulling out all of the stops for a health care win.

If a health care bill passes it will be a win for the liberals  ... but will it also be a win for Axelrod and his friends' firms?

We must keep a watch on Obama, his team and his political allies.

Thank you for your help on this and other issues.

Sincerely,
 DEW

P.S.  Obama worked to distract the news media with a re-appointment this week to the Federal Reserve.  Our news programs are now filled with the passing of well-known Senator Ted Kennedy.  However, don't let these news items push this story under the rug.

Help ACU stay vigilant on these and other key issues today, by signing the petition and supporting ACU HERE AND NOW.
