24 should have bumped off the B####

5. Janeane Garofalo Gets the '24' Boot

The word on the streets of L.A. is that one of the most controversial characters on the hit TV show, "24," will not be returning next season.

Janis, the Chloe wannabe, will apparently be booted off.

The tech geek character happens to be played by Janeane Garofalo, the not-so-funny actress who recently called Tea Party goers "racists" and "rednecks." Longtime "24" watchers have been willing to put up with a bit of political correctness from the writers from time to time. They've even tolerated public service ads accompanying the show that sounded like they were written by Al Gore.

But Garofalo's Tea Party comments really did it for a lot of the Fox show fans.

"24"'s Web site was deluged with posts suggesting ways to write Garofalo's character off the show.

It looks like Fox execs are going to make it happen.

Why?

It could have something to do with wanting to keep an audience
